Our Game History

Coming to the close of our 2025 college season, collegefootballfan.com finished with our 740th college football game since 1979.  Our ultimate Goal focused on seeing every Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team play in person at least once.  The Goal has been accomplished, even as other college football programs (136 in all) joined the ranks of the FBS after our journey began.  Along the way, we try to attend the most competitive game(s) we can find every week. Every chance we get – within the time available and within our budget – we try to attend the best possible match-up(s) at any level of NCAA football.  You will see that we enjoy this experience among teams from the FCS, D-2 and D-III competition as well.

Over the years, we’ve personally witnessed many great, historical, collegiate football games.  On the pages below, our collegefootballfan.com History lists our entire schedule of games attended sorted by decades, in chronological order, with final scores, and the location where each game was played.  Have fun perusing our Game History. See if we share some of the same memories. Find out when and where our paths might have crossed.  Great experiences in the past and more still lie ahead in the future!

Our Future

During the upcoming 2026 season, collegefootballfan.com looks to travel to more sites and states we haven’t visited yet. Call it our college football stadium “bucket list,” not that we’re looking to kick the bucket any time soon.  We hope all college fans can continue to pack their stadiums for the thrills and excitement of our favorite sport. Despite changes like wide-open transfer portals, NIL pay-outs with no commitments, and top players opting out weakening their teams after qualifying for bowl games, we understand that fandom gets tougher.  We continue to love the competitiveness of great games, spirited fans, festive tailgates, stadium traditions, opportunities at new and favorite venues, trips to campuses yet to be attended and more playoff games for CFP championships!
